SOOO COOL

Jet-man! (and I am jealous!)

ENGINES

AMT Netherlands designs and manufactures small gas turbines for the propulsion of radio-controlled flying aircraft, experimental aircraft development, and in the military target and surveillance drone field. Our turbines are also used in many kinds of research and education projects at universities all over the world.

O.S. Model aircraft engines. A They make a very small wankel rotary engine, besides many piston engines for RC toys.

THE BASIC ELEMENTS

The Elegant Universe. A great 3 houwer documentary that can be viewed online for free (there is a DVD for sale to, IF you live in the US.. ). It's about the search for "the theory about everything", starting with Newton and showing the progress up to the string theory. It is presented really nice.

THRUST & LIFT

WINGS

See How It Flies
"A new spin on the perceptions, procedures, and principles of flight."

How Airplanes Fly: A Physical Description of Lift
"the popular explanation, which fixates on the shape of the wing, may satisfy many but it does not give one the tools to really understand flight. The physical description of lift is easy to understand and much more powerful."

JETS & ROCKETS

Launch Vehicle Design (in one easy lesson)
The main problem of getting to orbit is to accelerate to Mach 26 - or a speed of about 8 kilometers / second. Airliners fly at less than Mach 1, and even the Concorde flies at only just over Mach 2. So you need to go a lot faster to get to orbit.
Contrary to what many people who make expendable rockets will tell you, it isn't difficult to design a "single stage to orbit" ( SSTO) rocket. In fact it's very easy - it can be done with rocket engines and propellant tanks designed, manufactured and operated 20 years ago!

Advanced Propulsion Concepts
Advanced propulsion is becoming a necessity, for both economic reasons and mission requirements. Advances in propulsion systems will ultimately reduce the cost of launching payloads into orbit. They will also reduce the propulsion system mass for satellite orbit maintenance and attitude control will be easier to maintain for extended periods of time, and reduce the cost of Low Earth orbit (LEO) to geosynchronous Earth orbit (GEO) orbit transfers. Advanced propulsion will extend our ability to explore the solar system and ultimately, enable interstellar missions.

OVAL EcoTech Advanced Interstellar Space Propulsion Systems
"Revealing an Advanced Science Capable of Allowing Humans to Travel to Other Stars, Harness Unlimited Energy, and Prolong Life"
Theories of an interstellar propulsion system, by Grant Hayman.

StarDrive Engineering
"presents a new technology for over-unity electric power generation and real all-electric faster-than-light starships, and provides links to related sites and to the U.S. stardrive patent."

Warp Drive When?
"This web site focuses on the propulsion related issues, explaining the challenges of interstellar travel, existing propulsion ideas, and the possibilities emerging from scientific literature that may one day provide the desired breakthroughs."

NASA Breakthrough Propulsion Physics Program
"In 1996, NASA established the Breakthrough Propulsion Physics program to seek the ultimate breakthroughs in space transportation: (1) propulsion that requires no propellant mass, (2) propulsion that attains the maximum transit speeds physically possible, and (3) breakthrough methods of energy production to power such devices."

Vacuum Thrust Aircraft Propulsion.
"What is a VTA ? A VTA is an aircraft that is solely operated by the vacuum it generates in utilising the tremendous thrust from atmospheric pressure. Hence the term "Vacuum Thrust Aircraft". The tremendous thrust obtainable from atmospheric pressure allows a craft of any size and shape to overcome all the effects of gravity as we know it; with a far simpler, cleaner, cheaper more powerful method of flight than any other currently known means of propulsion."

The Thomas Townsend Brown Site
"Thomas Townsend Brown, an American physicist, was a leader in developing theories concerning the link between electromagnetic and gravitational fields theorized by Dr. Albert Einstein. He advanced from theory to application with the development of solid and disc-shaped apparatuses which are believed to have created and utilized temporary, localized gravitational fields. Brown's work became very controversial due to the similarity between his work and what is believed to be the propulsion method of some observed UFO's."

Bob Lazar
Not a free site
"...an effort to recreate and illustrate the scientific aspects of an interstellar craft and the physics of it's propulsion system. This is a biography in database form, of the events and statements of Bob Lazar."

Gyroscopes As Propulsion Devices + How a Gyroscope Works
