The problem: People produce a lot of waste. Some of the "waste" can actually be used at other placed and thus is no waste really. But then there is the mixed waste that can not be used by anyone. That we burn or dump in holes. This is not a good solution. Also not good is dumping it in nature, especially in the sea. Many countries have no good infrastructure for waste, and use the rivers as the solution, from in there to the sea. And even worse is radio-active waste, mixed with other waste, we can do nothing with that other than dump it underground somewhere.
The better alternative: First of all do we need to produce as little as possible useless mixed waste. Second thing is to have a good infrastructure for waste. And now we get to the most interesting part: plasma separation. In theory we can heat the waste up all the way to plasma. Plasma is a very hot soup where all molecules fall apart into atoms, even the electrons lose connection. With different technicks (centrifuge, electrostatic, magnetic, distill) it may be possible to get as output all pure atoms, separately! No more "waste".
The energy should come from solar, other sustainable sources, and who knows fusion. When cooling down the plasma, this heat you of course use to heat up the next batch. The lower grade heat left over can be used to generate electricity, and the even lower grade heat left over from that can deliver heat of cold (heat can make cold) to the city.

The problem: To start with, any man or woman that wants to be in power, is questionable. Why do you want to be in power? Is it to serve your need for power, or to serve the people? It may be both: serving the people and liking the power. But man more than woman after their midlive crisis want to make one more big score. Worst example is wanting to get the country in a war one more time, to be the leader, the hero, don't care about the sheep really.
The second thing is that any person get older at there own speed. But at any speed, at 70 things start to brake down, and at 80 you are getting quite old. Congratulations, but no more driving a car or being leader of a country. Try to write a book for the next generation, give good advice as long as you can, try to have live as healthy and happy as you can, it's not easy, but some get over 100 years with a smile.
The better alternative: The leader of a country should be forced to be responsible and stop at say 75 or earlier if necessary. Give it to the next generation. The position of a country's leader is not to serve the leader's ego. One needs to be fit for this important job for the people.
Another better alternative, is to have not have 1 personal as a leader. Instead have a smart set of rules that we follow. No parties, no leaders.

The problem: Hundreds of languages are being spoken on earth. Almost nobody can communicate well with somebody from an other language area. Madness! Most people speak 1 language well and a little bit of 1 or 2 other languages, level "bad language" with is a wrong combination of 2 words, to illustrate my point. Many people have as second language; a popular language that many people in that area also use as second language. Most use second languages are: English, Chinese, Spanish, Russian, and a lot more. All languages used are "natural" languages, meaning that they have a long history, and make little logical sense. Don't try to understand it, just learn it like it is.
The better alternative: We should design a: logical, rich, efficient and nice sounding language, easy to learn for people and machines. Everybody should learn this language at the same time, so we can finally communicate with any other! Not forbidden to speak your or any of the hundreds old languages, but the newly designed language should be number 2 or 1 for everybody.
The naysayers will now stand up to say "people have tried that with Esperanto and that did not work" to what I say: Esperanto was designed in the year 1887 and never introduced to all people at the same time. I am sure that a much better design can be made now, and it must be introduced all over the world at the same time.

The problem: A country can not function well if their infrastructure is bad.
Examples of infrastructure: drinking water network, waste water network, electricity generation, electricity networks, electronic communication networks, packages collectin distribution delivery, roads, rails, rivers, canals, harbors, water management (levels composition, flow direction), water locks, dikes, airfields, public transport, food production storage distrubution, mining and refining, recycle, waste managment, collection and sharing of information, schools, hospitals, collecting tax, making maintaining and applying rules, and so on. Infrastructure is very expensive to make and maintain, even when done well. The only way to get this done is by collecting taxes and let the government choose who will get payed making all this infrastructure real.
The better alternative: well, there is not really an alternative. A country has basically 3 options to chose from: to do as little as possible about their infrastructure, or to do as much as possible, or something inbetween. Without much infrastructure, the people seem more free of government intrusion, but it will be a dangerous mess, with many people suffering and dying because of a lack of infrastructure. Choosing to have as good as possible infrastructure, is at the same time a choose for a large government with many rules and taxes. Each country should look at what infrastructure fits their needs the best. Very important to be very strict and fair with the collection and spending of taxes, thus without corruption or inefficient companies, including the government itsef.
I hate taxes and government intrusion, but rather that then to live uneducated in a place where the ones with the most aggressive guns rule your live, and having the yearly possibility to be flushed away by heavy rain. I guess it is the challenge to get a good balance between freedom and government control, and to fight hard against corruption and inefficiencies.
The problem: is kind of relative because there are many different kind of schools and teachers. I hated school while other children in my class liked it. Times have changed schools, I hear it on average has improved here in the Netherlands. But still, let me sum up my complains:
- is school mainly there so that:
* the parents can go to work?
* force the kids to become disaplined workers?
(and not entrepreneurs)
- going to school felt to me as wasting most of my life.
at home I could be busy with to me more important stuff,
at a way higher level then on school.
- homework? Are you trying to destroy my whole life?!
- if I would not go to school, me and my parents would get
in big trouble. Children from age 5 to 16 must by law.
- you are not free to learn at a time that suits you.
- the main goal of a teacher seems to be to keep the
unwilling class under control.
- the teacher is not free to how and what to teach.
- classes are often too large (I remember 32 at 1 teacher)
- many teachers were not good (also unhappy about school?).
- I had to focus on what I was NOT good at,
to become more average, more normal.
- I had no say over what subjects were taught.
- some subjects are good for all to learn, but some where not.
- I say there are some very important subjects not taught.
- I had many deep interest, was eager to learn,
but not one of my interest was available in school.
- how stupid is it to advance to the next level
while you do not master the current level yet?!
- I was lousy with languages.
I still think languages need to be improved, not me.
- school doesn't offer much for those who want to
study faster and at a higher level. 'just be average'
- please let everybody be on their own level, not matter age.
- being told you should study at as 'high' level as you can,
and now we have many smart adults who don't know how to weld.
- I was like "what did I learn today? Next to nothing, again"
The better alternative: Where to start. I am pro learning, but from my complains is may be clear that I want erase the school system of my days. I don't suggest to end all schools and let the kids stay at home. I would like there to be super good schools where the children really like to go. No homework though! I would keep the required basics very basic. I would increase the amount of topics, and somehow there need to be support for rare topics. I don't care what age you have; your level is what it is. Are you 15 and your mathematics level is only 2 that is ok, are you 6 and your mathematics level is already at 12 that is ok also. What is not ok is forcing to bring and keep everybody on level 5. Topics to develop the mind but also the body. Another big thing would be going into the world, to see what all the older people are doing, and to see places that you normally get no access to.
My plan is to write a whole page about school.
The problem: Most products are of unnecessary low quality, and many good quality products as priced unnecessary high, while we know how to make good quality products for a fair price. The reason for that is part of our DNA: we like to pay a low price. Result is having low quality stuff for actually more money because you have to buy it 2 or 3 times because it broke, and the low quality is worse for the environment.
Low/bad quality products:
- don't work as wel
- look and feel worse
- have less or no second hand value
- brake down soon
- can not be repaired
- parts have no second hand value
- parts can not be exchanged within other products
- people forget how to care for low quality
